In the study near death experiences (NDE’s) we find glimpses of what might lie ahead. I have read endless spiritual books which give great detail of what “life” is like beyond the physical body. We also know that when we dream, unencumbered by material restrictions we also may find ourselves in Nosso Lar.
Belinda Carlisle sang the song “Heaven Is A Place On Earth” which captures the view of many, not least myself during my atheistic days. Reality check. It is hard to imagine what life must be like living in war zones all around the world. Hell probably doesn’t do it justice.
Those of us who subscribe to the existence of the world of spirit, we have the opportunity for frequent communication from our loved ones who dwell in “heaven”. And unless you have first-hand experience of what it is like to observe a loved one getting closer to physical death (my mother was a wonderful case study) you will find accounts that give insights of this remarkable process. Another way of putting this is that the veil between the two worlds starts to be lifted.
No account of peak experiences, for how can you describe heaven in any other way, is complete without reference to substance/stimulus (drugs, alcohol, sex) induced “highs”. Many who have consumed it talk about experiencing heaven through consumption of ayahuasca.
Do I really need to ask why anyone should be interested in the idea of living in paradise? I suspect I do having recently read the incredible, truly awe-inspiring literature on sacred sites. The vandalism, desecration and overwhelming ignorance regarding some of these sites is breath-taking. God forgive us all.
I have been a healer for a long time. My beautiful fiancée, Vanessa is a healer. My late wife, Anne was a healer. Many of my friends are healers, and I have seen it said that our passage, our time on earth, is a healing journey. Love heals. Love is the very substance of the universe. Love is the most powerful healer of all.
My fascination with the idea of heaven is driven by the desire to make any healing as powerful as it can be. It seems pointless to spend all my time healing the consequences of living in an insane, inverted, corrupted world in which we only occasionally get glimpses of the beauty and paradise which [can] surrounds us. Yes we are responsible for our lives. Yes we are responsible for our bodies and what we put in them. Much of what afflicts us can be put down to irresponsibility and ignorance and the reliance on a “pill for every ill” mind-set. And yet there are many, many exceptions. What I wouldn’t give to be able to heal every condition known to humanity.
Can you imagine a heaven full of sick people?
Let us create a paradise on earth, here and now. We can do this, indeed I have spent almost all of my life wanting to do this and I’m not giving up any time soon. It begins with how we value ourselves, our “comfort in our own skin”. It then extends to our significant other, our family, friends and those who we interact with. It also depends on how we perceive (the whole thing is about perception) the universe. Einstein asked “Is the universe a friendly place?” Need I go on? The universe is indeed a friendly place, held together by a divine intelligence. As a former atheist I have no time for those who believe that everything is random and chaotic (and therefore futile) and that the earth is the only planet out of trillions which can support life.
I am comfortable in my own skin, though I have very occasional days (less and less-see next comment) when I wish I wasn’t in it! But I have a relationship with Vanessa that is beyond words and to me it means the sun shines every day. “God” has no religious connotations any more. God is just a word for divine intelligence.
Back to sacred sites. In the UK we are literally surrounded by them. So too in Ireland. We read about the pyramids, Machu Picchu, the Taj Mahal, and hundreds of other awesome constructions and places. But what is the point of an ancient sacred site? Some are indeed places of incredible beauty which inspire reverence and awe. However is it just possible that sacred sites were places of transformation, places in which amazing knowledge could be absorbed effortlessly and as the name implies, were places connected to the “divine”.
To me they are all these things. Again do your research please. Symbols (Reiki anyone?) can change us. The earth has a grid of energy lines criss-crossing the whole planet. Cathedrals are built on energy lines, usually those connected to water. And you may not believe this, but research will confirm it, sacred mountains are connected by geometry and mathematics.
As many authors have said everything we have been taught is a lie. The more I get into this (i.e. the true history of humanity) the more I realise how deep the rabbit hole goes. Next week Vanessa and I are going to visit West Kennet Long Barrow near Avebury in Wiltshire, UK. Contemporary historians describe this place as a burial ground. Which I have no doubt it is. However this place, Avebury, Stonehenge, and almost all the sites I have referred to above are infinitely more than that. The idea that all ancient civilisations were populated by inarticulate “hunter gatherers” whose horizons were dictated by the search for the next meal is utterly preposterous. The technology required to build the pyramids in Egypt vastly exceeds anything we have been told by those who currently run the planet. Because those who run the planet know all about this. The technology which built the pyramids exists today. But you won’t read about it in your newspapers or hear it referred to on “Desert Island Discs.”
For some other time.
Sacred sites offer the opportunity for everyone to have a glimpse of or a full experience of transformation. To see and feel heaven on earth. And having been transformed, to have the knowledge and inspiration to help others. Someone once said “a mind once stretched never returns to its original dimensions.”
The more of us who are inspired, who know, who love ourselves, love humanity, all sentient beings and the creating intelligence, the greater the opportunity to build heaven here and now. God is everywhere and is in everything is s/he not? My connection to the Divine is through Vanessa. She inspires me and through her love and inspiration she helps me heal and help others in changing the world.
Want your trinity [Self, Others, God] of relationships to be like that?
