Of course this all assumes 1) You have a sense of humour, 2) You have an open mind, 3) You think the world is insane, 4) You have a big heart, 5) You are willing to entertain creative ways of changing the world, 6) You haven’t given up yet.
I have been a fan of this brilliant comedian and activist for a long time. He first came to prominence in the late 80’s early 90’s. His programmes are all about challenging the arms trade, corrupt politicians and corporations, and anyone who ‘fronts’ global domination. All done with incredible creativity, bottle and humour at least as good as Stewart Lee’s.
There is little point in trotting out snippets and sound bites from his web site and shows. Mark is best experienced live, although the CD Bravo Figaro about his dad is inspired.
If you have reached here on this blog, I can and will safely assume you want to bring the whole corrupt capitalist and Illuminati edifice down. At times it all gets to you. You are torn between loving the system out of existence, but equally concerned that the evil and rottenness at its core has to be exposed. So you get pissed off. The antidote?
Humour, rebellion, dissent, Mark Thomas style.
And did I forget to mention Mark walked the length of the Israeli separation barrier for fun in 2011/12? And no, for those who like ‘balance’, it’s not a PR piece for Hamas.
So, here is a comedian who is not a paedophile, closet MI5 operative or apologist for his idols [sic], Nigel Farage and Jeremy Clarkson.
Now, I would love to hear him take on the world’s issues from a spiritual perspective, because God has a sense of humour too. In 2015? However, at present Mark remains a dedicated atheist and global treasure.
And the problem is, almost all his tour dates have gone or sold out...Click on the image below to go direct to his web site.
